Some random photos from recent events – robotics competitions have begun, an old no cell phone poster and pandemic shadows of sorts . . . . The South Eugene Robotics Team did very well at the first competition last weekend. The hours have been put in and the enthusiasm is high . . . As seen on a wall at the Oregon State Fairgrounds . . . New favorite snacking crackers/cookies! I do not remember where I saw this, but what a long four years it has been . . . .

Mid-February

It’s been a while . . . . January came and went and now here we are. I am in the middle of a solid training block for the Gorge Waterfalls 50k in mid-April and that feels good. Two months to go and I am slowly extending miles and getting in some hills. Hill work for trail running means trail walking, or “power hiking,” or just plain old, “hiking.” The secret sauce of trail running is that you go long by going slow. At least that is my secret sauce. Our visit included a visit to my see my stepmom who turned 85 on Friday! Music was happening at her retirement community so we went to listen. Sara was scheduled to work this past weekend, so I took the kids up to her sister’s place for Thanksgiving. We had a lovely time as I hope is captured by some of the photos I managed to take.
