Gorge Waterfalls 50k

On Sunday the 14th, I ran my third 50k trail race. This was up along the Columbia River, just east of Portland about 40 miles or so. It was named the Gorge Waterfalls because you run past several waterfalls! I’d have to say that this race was by far the most challenging and perhaps the most beautiful. As with most races, I had a game plan going into it with my goals being simply to finish under the cut-off time as well as not “bonk” nor fall. All was accomplished this time. Some random photos from recent events – robotics competitions have begun, an old no cell phone poster and pandemic shadows of sorts . . . . The South Eugene Robotics Team did very well at the first competition last weekend. The hours have been put in and the enthusiasm is high . . . As seen on a wall at the Oregon State Fairgrounds . . . New favorite snacking crackers/cookies! I do not remember where I saw this, but what a long four years it has been . . . .

A few snaps from the past few days – we had a nice time with a lot of down time, so Wii Switch playing, Taylor Swift Monopoly, reading and such. Cold and foggy and clear outside, which lends to some good running days. Nora found the idea on Pinterest and spent a few hours making up the game board. It was fun! The main rule is that the when a property is being purchased, the song that the property is named after must be played. Good times were had. 🙂 Met these fellas on my run on Thanksgiving Day. Hopefully they were not too nervous . . . A lot of chopping is required to make Emerald City Salad, but it is a favorite…
