Body of Water: A Sage, a Seeker, and the World’s Most Elusive Fish by Chris Dombrowski My rating: 5 of 5 stars This was a GREAT book – even if one is not into fly fishing or fishing at all. There’s a depth to the stories that are shared – an arc, if you will. I learned more about the Bahamas, bone-fish and the history of the place, the people who live there and make their livelihood guiding. In addition, Chris’s writing is dense – I often would find myself needing to take a break from reading to consider what it was he was getting at. There was beauty in the writing, as well. Safeco Field Tour

My son Jonah and I took a nice tour of Safeco Field when we were up in Seattle this past week. It was a wonderful day with him as we enjoyed the tour, went to Ebbet’s Field Flannels, a vintage baseball clothing store and then went up to Pike Place Market to get some lunch. Update on my broken phalanges . . .

OK, so an update on the image from the below post. I was playing 3rd base for a co-ed softball team, most of whom are english teachers. The name of the team? The Third Person Singlers. Yes, that’s right . . . so, in our second game of the season I took a hard-hit ground ball into my glove hand. Instead of catching it in the pocket, I managed to catch it on my fingers (and no, I was unable to get anyone out). At first I thought I had simply dislocated a joint. When I removed the glove, it was apparent I had dislocated a joint, but I also broke a piece of bone off of the lowest bone. This break prevented the middle…
