~ Commuting uniform ~

Those who know me know that I bike to work each day. It’s short – a 2.65 mile ride door to door. As I posted a few days ago we have been hit with a lot of late summer wildfire smoke so I suited up in an N-95 for the daily ride. Sigh. It’s a bit much these days. We desperately need rain for a whole host of reasons and even knowing that the rains will arrive, these weeks of dry and heat and smoke take their toll . . . .

These snaps likely don’t capture it, but this year has, once again, had an end-of-summer and start-of-fall season full of wildfire smoke. There’s a fire east of us a bit near Waldo Lake, and when the air pressure systems set up just so, the winds from the east funnel the smoke into our valley. Granted, this valley goes from just south of Eugene up to Portland, but we often get the smoke from the wildfires. It gets old and is frustrating, and for a person who is from Seattle, I miss rain at this point. The forecast is for continued dryness all week, too.
