Ditch Market Saturday

Posted on December 5, 2022

Went to the “Ditch Market” on Saturday where many local artists were sharing their creations. I picked up a Handy Bag and some other items as well. Tom and Leslie used to run a company called Archival Clothing which made bags, totes and backpacks. Their stuff is / was super – made in the USA, canvas and waxed canvas materials. The bags I have of theirs are in constant use. Tom and Leslie now run a smaller operation called Handy Bags and, again, the quality is exceptional and I am grateful to use their totes. More images from the market day on Leslie’s Instagram. Hannah has an office one floor above mine in the College of Design and this is her work. It’s cloth…

Got up early today to start my run at 5:30 am out at Mt. Pisgah. This is the Howard Buford Arboretum and I usually run one side, down the other and back to the top, which I did today. It gets old and is frustrating, and for a person who is from Seattle, I miss rain at this point. The forecast is for continued dryness all week, too. The hill in the distance is slightly obscured by the smoke:   The other hill slightly east of us: Normally,…

Fall

On my long run on Saturday I snapped these couple of photos: The first is from the top of Mount Baldy, looking east towards the mountains known as The Sisters. The second is the looming tower at the corner on the new Hayward Field track & field venue in town. The outer material of this is metal and the images are created by holes in the metal. The runner who made Eugene famous, Steve Prefontaine, is the image seen here.
